Airshow China

The China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition (also known as “Airshow China”) is the largest and only international aviation aerospace trade show endorsed by the Chinese central government.

This biennial aviation expo features a variety of static displays, trade talks, press conferences, and flying demonstrations. It is the ideal stage for domestic and international aviation enterprises to showcase and exchange information about the latest technology, products, and services.

The first Airshow China took place in 1996, with a significant turnout from 20,000 trade visitors, 700,000 public visitors, approximately 1,500 national and international journalists, and more than 400 aerospace companies from 25 countries. This inaugural event generated in excess of USD$ 2 billion worth of business contracts.

In 2014, the 10th biennial Airshow China became the biggest and most successful thus far. There were 700 registered exhibitors from 42 countries, 130 aircraft were on display, 350, 000 square meters of indoor exhibition space, 68 high-profile forums, multiple press conferences, and contract signing ceremonies. The expo generated a turnover of $23.4 billion US worth of business. Airshow China is now well established as the ultimate platform for building networks and undertaking business aviation deals in China.

2016 Airshow China

The 11th Airshow China will take place from November 1 – 6, 2016 at Zhuhai, China. This year, along with flying demonstrations, press conferences, contract signings and exhibition of products and services, a series of professional forums and summits is also planned. A wide range of industry topics are expected to be covered, including manufacturing, maintenance, emerging technologies, management, civil-military integration and many more.

Primary Airport

The most convenient option for attending the China Airshow is Zhuhai Jinwan Airport, also known as IATA: ZUH, ICAO: ZGSD. Zhuhai Jinwan Airport serves the city of Zhuhai, and is well known for being host to the largest airshow in China. ZGSD can be used as an Airport of Entry (AOE) temporarily due to the China Airshow from the 20th October to 30th of November 2016. Although the airport is fully equipped for ground handling services, it does not contain any VIP lounge.

Our Jetex 24/7 dedicated operations team is on standby for new regulations from ZGSD with regards to Prior Permission Required (PPR) and any restrictions to customs and immigrations. As soon as we receive updates, we inform our clients accordingly.

Alternate airport

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, also known as, IATA: CAN, ICAO: ZGGG is the best alternate airport option for the China Airshow. ZGGG offers customs and immigrations services 24 hours a day. Airport security is also capable of handling international flights. PPR is not needed for ZGGG. PPR and Slots will only be approved once the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has first approved the flight schedule.

Jetex has a strongly established presence at ZGGG, with our own FBO that is fully-equipped for all ground handling services. Our FBO contains a VIP lounge, and expert multilingual staff who are ready to assist with all of your requirements. Jetex offers our clients premium quality services and a vast experience in operating in the region.

Landing Permits and Fuel

Landing permits are required for all non-revenue private and non-scheduled commercial flights into China. Official sponsor letters issued by Zhuhai Airshow organizer and full travel schedule are needed for acquiring ZGSD landing permits. For ZGGG, submission of additional documents is not necessary. The application is to be submitted to CAAC three working days before arrival date. As a result, we can expect to attain the permit within one working day prior to arrival date. Please be advised that we can apply for landing permits for the purpose of business and private flights only. This means that each aircraft should have a maximum of 28 seats. Finally, operators should also note that there is no VAT charged on fuel in China.

NOTAMs

NOTAMs suggest that slots are going to be congested at ZGGG, as well as at ZBAA / ZSPD / ZSSS / ZGGG / ZGSZ. Private jets are not authorized to occupy more than one slot during peak hours at the same airport within the same day. Peak hours are defined as 00:01 to 14:00 UTC. It is recommended that operators inform their trip support company of their intended travel dates as soon as possible, in order to make all arrangements on time for the event.
