Jetex is committed to ambitious emissions reduction goals set by The International Air Transport Association (IATA). The company is at the forefront of the shift towards a lower carbon aviation industry as it is now offering Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel™ at Helsinki Airport.
Jetex, an award-winning global leader in executive aviation, continues to offer more ways of reducing carbon emissions of travel. Earlier this year, the company began offering Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) produced at Jetex Le Bourget, Paris, and has now expanded the service to Helsinki Airport in partnership with Neste, the world’s leading producer of Sustainable Aviation Fuel.
Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel, in neat form and over the life cycle, reduces GHG emissions up to 80% compared to fossil jet fuel*. The SAF offered by Jetex at Helsinki Airport is currently made from waste and residue raw materials. The fuel provides an immediate solution for reducing the direct carbon emissions of flying.
“At Jetex, we want to help decarbonize the aviation industry and we will continue to collaborate with industry stakeholders to explore viable options to help scale up sustainable aviation fuel more broadly. We are pleased with our partnership with Neste that helps us bring SAF to our customers at Finland’s busiest airport”, said Sufiyan Asif, Director of Fuel, Jetex.
Jetex acknowledges its responsibility to reduce the carbon impact of aviation on the planet and supports the vision of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, including the improvement of its operational efficiency and investment into the development of a global SAF fuel network. It continues to form partnerships with a number of technology and fuel companies to make SAF available at more locations around the world.
As air travel is resuming again, it is more urgent than ever for the aviation industry to start minimizing its climate impact,” says Jonathan Wood, Vice President Renewable Aviation Europe at Neste. “Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel enables Airlines and Business Aviation operators to significantly reduce carbon emissions. This new agreement with our partner Jetex is another step in encouraging increased usage of SAF, and we look forward to working with Jetex to further expanding the network of locations where SAF is available.”
Progressing the development and commercial deployment of SAF is crucial to decarbonizing the aviation industry. According to IATA, more than 100 million liters of SAF will be produced in 2021. It is vital for the future of aviation to continue to address climate change and Jetex remains focused on playing its part to reduce the impact on the planet.
